The Power To Walk Away

Some people desire money, others desire power. Power does not necessarily have to be brute force. It comes in various forms, and the strongest power that one has is the power to choose how they respond to events and situations.

The power to choose one's attitude in a given moment is one of the most liberal feelings in the world.

Often times, in negotiations, the power lie with the person who has less to lose. This can also be used in one's favor even when one has something to lose - by choosing to walk away when you know that the other person probably does not understand your offer well enough. Simply understand that whatever you are offering - it is not for them.

Be comfortable to walk away.

Some people are trolls, some people are in it for the sake of argument, some are just having fun. Tell them - I understand that it is not for you - all the best - and walk away. There are plenty of people who would want whatever you have to offer.

That, in itself, is a strong negotiation tool, and a confidence inducer in your own abilities.
